Amon isn’t the avatar
So yeah, I saw this post last night saying Amon is the avatar and not Korra. It says that Korra is just a very talented bender and something like that. Well I was thinking about it almost all night since it’s a pretty interesting theory. But after hours of being submerged into the Avatar world, I decided that it can’t be. Why?
Because he doesn’t fit the time frame.
On one episode, Tarrlok said that “42 years ago”, Avatar Aang faced Yakone. Then in Korra’s meditation while she was in the metal box, Aang asked Toph to drop the nicknames since he was already 40 years old by the time that happened. If that’s the case, if Aang is alive, then he should be 82 years old by now. But he died when he was 66(166) so that would mean he died 16(or 82 - 66 = 16) years ago. Korra is 16 so she fits the frame. If Korra isn’t the avatar, it should be at least someone her age. So Amon can’t be the Avatar since he’s got a family already. And he doesn’t look like he’s 16 right?
Anyway, I’m still interested with the theory that Amon is Aang tho. I know it’s weird and absurd but heh. The trailer showed how a bigger version of Amon’s mask was on Aang’s statue. Why on earth would Amon put his mask on Republic city’s hero? Mockery probably. Lol. But still, it’s still worth the mind game so I can’t stop thinking about it *I said that with Chitanda’s voice. lol).
